Leicester City are reportedly considering selling Jeremy Monga this summer as part of efforts to reduce expenses, while Abdul Fatawu continues to attract interest from several clubs, and a former midfielder has moved on.
The 16-year-old winger has been on the radar of all five of the Premier League’s top clubs over the past year. According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have already held discussions about a potential move, with a transfer fee of around £15 million being talked about.
Any deal at that price point would likely take place after Monga signs his first professional contract upon turning 17 on July 10, a move that would strengthen Leicester City’s negotiating position.
Fatawu, meanwhile, has drawn attention from Everton, Sunderland, Leeds United, Fulham and RB Leipzig, with newly promoted Coventry City also entering the race. Leicester are expected to aim for the highest possible return for one of their most valuable assets.
A quick agreement seems unlikely, as Fatawu’s current focus is on representing Ghana in the upcoming World Cup over the next month.
In addition, Leicester are keeping an eye on players released by Championship clubs. Academy product Callum Elder, who has been released by Derby County, could compete with Luke Thomas for the left-back position, having previously achieved promotion from League One on three occasions.
Meanwhile, Papy Mendy is set to leave Watford once his contract expires. The 33-year-old midfielder, who turns 34 next month, made 25 appearances in the Championship and played regularly during the second half of the season.
