Bruno Fernandes has been named the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Season, adding another major accolade to an already outstanding campaign.
The Portuguese midfielder had earlier won the Football Writers' Association award and swept all individual honours at Manchester United. This latest recognition further cements his status as one of the league’s standout performers.
At 31, Fernandes has arguably delivered his finest season at Old Trafford, providing 20 assists — equalling the league record — and scoring eight goals, while leading Manchester United to a third-place finish as club captain.
He edged out strong competition from Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Gabriel, and David Raya, as well as Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo. Morgan Gibbs-White and Igor Thiago were also in contention for the award.
Fernandes still has more to aim for in the weeks ahead. He has the chance to break the assist record in United’s upcoming clash against Brighton, compete for the PFA Player of the Year award, and most importantly, play a key role in Portugal’s pursuit of their first-ever World Cup title.
