In Kerala, candidates were fielded on 55 out of 140 seats, where only 33 thousand votes were received. Contesting on 118 out of 234 seats in Tamil Nadu, Bahujan Samaj Party got only 53 thousand votes and the deposits of all the candidates were forfeited. In such a situation, it has to be seen how Bahujan Samaj Party will bring the voters in its favor in UP.

The party has now emphasized on booth level strategy. Adopting the Bengal model of BJP, Mayawati has given instructions to strengthen booth level committees instead of rallies.
