The district administration on Saturday launched a demolition drive against properties allegedly linked to drug smugglers in the Miran Sahib area of Jammu as part of an ongoing crackdown on narcotics-related activities. Bulldozer action against the alleged illegal properties was underway, with a large number of police personnel and administrative officials deployed at the site to maintain law and order during the operation. Officials said strict action was being taken against those allegedly involved in narcotics smuggling. Further details regarding the properties and individuals concerned are awaited.

Similar action in Udhampur
In a similar case on May 22, the district administration and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Udhampur also launched a crackdown on drug smuggling by demolishing a commercial property built illegally by an accused smuggler. The anti-encroachment drive targeted shops constructed on government land near the Dewal Bridge along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the Samroli area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Chenani police station.
