SRH vs RCB, IPL 2026: SunRisers Hyderabad batter continued to pile on the runs as he completed 600 runs with a destructive fifty in the IPL 2026 clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on May 22, Friday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Nevertheless, his tally of 606 runs were still not enough to cross B Sai Sudharsan, who is ahead by a distance in the Orange Cap standings and could take the honours at the end of the tournament for the second season in a row.

The retired South African batter started slowly but teed off in Josh Hazlewood’s second over, smashing him for multiple sixes to take 27 runs off that over. The veteran completed his half-century off only 23 deliveries with a brace in the 16th over of the innings. The explosive 45-run opening stand between Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma set things up for the Orange Army. While Klaasen’s 24-ball 51 was entertaining and Abhishek Sharma’s 56 enterprising, the standout batting performance was delivered by Ishan Kishan, who slammed 79 off the 46 deliveries he faced.

Although the SunRisers tried their best, they couldn’t stop the Royal Challengers from scoring 166 in the end, with the latter finishing with a total of 200 despite losing by 55 runs. Crossing a total of 166 means the defending champions have set up the Qualifier 1 clash with the Gujarat Titans on May 26, Tuesday in Dharamshala.

Nevertheless, B Sai Sudharsan is currently the Orange Cap holder with 638 runs, followed by Shubman Gill, who has 616 runs.
