He clearly said that it would be premature to call Vaibhav the “next Sachin Tendulkar” and it could add unnecessary pressure on the player. Dinesh Karthik believes that every player has his own journey and should not be seen in the shadow of any great player.

During a conversation in a podcast, Karthik said that what Vaibhav is doing is very special, but people should not see him as a copy of someone else. He stressed that what Sachin Tendulkar achieved in his career was under different circumstances and in a different era, while Vaibhav’s path and challenges will be completely different.

He also said that while Sachin faced challenges both on and off the field, Vaibhav will face new challenges in today’s digital age like mental pressure, expectations of social media and rapidly changing cricket culture.

On the other hand, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s performance in IPL 2026 has been consistently excellent. He has scored 579 runs at a strike rate of 237 in the 13 matches played so far and remains in the top-5 in the race for the Orange Cap.
