New Delhi: Realme has officially launched the 16T 5G in India, expanding its smartphone lineup in the competitive mid-range segment. Priced at ₹29,999, the new device focuses on long battery life, durability, display quality, and AI-powered camera features aimed at everyday users.
The smartphone enters a crowded market where brands are increasingly competing on performance, battery efficiency, and premium features at accessible pricing.
8000 mAh Battery Takes Center Stage
One of the biggest highlights of the Realme 16T 5G is its large 8000 mAh battery. According to the company, the device can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge under regular conditions. Realme also claims that the battery is designed to maintain its health for up to seven years, targeting users looking for long-term reliability.
The company describes the phone as an “all-star power kit” built for uninterrupted day-to-day usage and improved longevity.
AI Camera and Display Features
The smartphone features a 50 MP Sony IMX852 AI camera equipped with several software-based photography tools. Features such as AI Popout, AI Portrait Glow, and Selfie Mirror are designed to improve portrait and selfie photography.
On the front, the device offers a 144 Hz refresh rate display aimed at smoother scrolling and gaming performance. The screen also supports brightness levels of up to 1200 nits, improving outdoor visibility under direct sunlight.
Rugged Build and Long-Term Performance
Realme has also focused heavily on durability. The 16T 5G comes with IP69-rated dust and water resistance along with military-grade shock protection for better resistance against accidental drops and rough usage.
The company further claims the smartphone can maintain smooth performance for up to six years. Audio enhancements include 400 percent Ultra Volume support for louder and clearer sound output.
Competition in Mid-Range Segment
The Realme 16T 5G will compete against smartphones such as the OnePlus Nord CE 6 5G, Vivo T5 5G, Poco X8 Pro, and the Realme 16 5G in the Indian market.
