Arsenal have already begun shaping their plans for the upcoming summer transfer window, even as they continue their push to secure the Premier League title this season.

The North London club are reportedly eyeing a new forward option who could potentially serve as a replacement for Kai Havertz.

While Mikel Arteta’s side remain fully focused on their ongoing campaign—currently sitting atop the Premier League standings and still in contention for both the FA Cup and the Champions League—behind the scenes, the club’s recruitment team is preparing for the months ahead.

Those at the Emirates Stadium are already working on identifying attacking reinforcements to strengthen the squad for next season.

Last summer, Arsenal made a significant move by signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP. Although the Swedish striker has adapted reasonably well to life in London, he has yet to make a truly dominant impact in the league.

Nevertheless, given the recurring injury issues faced by both Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, the latest developments could see their positions come under scrutiny.

According to journalist Christian Falk, Arsenal are currently leading the race to secure the signature of Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi.

The 21-year-old forward has been in excellent form this season, netting 17 goals and contributing five assists in 48 appearances across all competitions. His tally includes three goals in the Champions League proper and one during the qualifying rounds.

Falk reports that Arsenal are “seriously interested and talks are underway” with the Belgian club regarding a potential transfer.

Tresoldi, who is eligible to represent Italy, Germany, or Argentina at international level, is widely regarded as one of the most promising young strikers in Europe. Speaking to CaughtOffside, Falk commented, “He seems to be the future of Germany in the striker position.”

The young forward joined Club Brugge last summer from Hannover 96 in a deal worth approximately €7 million, signing a contract that runs until 2029.

According to FourFourTwo, the potential arrival of Tresoldi could raise questions about the futures of Havertz and Jesus at the Emirates. While Gyokeres still has areas to improve, he has performed well enough to justify his place in the squad, especially given his consistent availability.

This could see Gyokeres operating in rotation with Tresoldi next season, whereas the more injury-prone Havertz and Jesus might be viewed as less reliable assets. From a financial standpoint, Arsenal’s management could consider offloading one or both to streamline wages and squad expenditure.

As per Transfermarkt, Tresoldi currently holds a market valuation of €13 million.
