Rajasthan: The effect of scorching heat and heatwave in the state is continuously increasing the problems of the people. A slight drop in temperature was recorded in some districts, but the hot winds and humidity did not allow people to feel relief. The Meteorological Department has made it clear that the scorching heat will continue in the state for the next one week. The Meteorological Department has warned that after May 24, the heatwave may take a more dangerous form. There is a possibility of severe heat conditions in many districts. Even on Thursday, strong sunlight and hot winds kept people in distress in most parts of the state.

Sriganganagar hottest for second consecutive day

The highest temperature in Rajasthan was recorded in Sriganganagar, where the mercury reached 45.1 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the effect of heat wave was seen in many areas of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Kota divisions. Due to the intense heat in the afternoon, there was less movement of people on the roads and most of the people were seen forced to stay in their homes.

Temperature dropped in some districts, but no relief

In districts like Jaisalmer, Churu, Bikaner, Bhilwara and Kota, the temperature was recorded near or slightly below normal. However, people did not get respite from the heat due to strong hot winds and humidity. The strong sunlight troubled people since morning and the effect of heat increased further as the day progressed.

Weather may change today and tomorrow

According to the Meteorological Center, Jaipur, due to the effect of weak western disturbance, a slight change in the weather may be seen in some north-eastern areas of the state. There is a possibility of light rain with strong wind in Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Jhunjhunu and surrounding areas on 22 and 23 May. However, the Meteorological Department says that there is no hope of long term relief from this.

Effect of heat wave continued throughout the day in Jaipur

Strong sunlight and hot winds troubled people in the capital Jaipur. The maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 42 degrees Celsius. Light to moderate winds blew in many areas, but the heat did not reduce. The Meteorological Department has predicted that similar weather conditions will continue for the next three to four days.

The condition of Udaipur and Kota is also suffering due to heat.

The maximum temperature in Lake City Udaipur was recorded at 40.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 23.6 degrees Celsius. I started feeling extreme heat since morning. In Kota, the maximum temperature was recorded at 43 degrees and the minimum was 31.4 degrees Celsius. To provide relief from the heat, forest workers were seen spraying water on animals at Abheda Biological Park.

Heat increased in Alwar and Shekhawati region

The temperature in Alwar reached 44 degrees Celsius. The effect of strong sunlight remained throughout the day, although people got some relief from the light breeze in the evening. The heat has been affecting the entire Shekhawati region including Sikar for the last one week. The maximum temperature here was recorded at 42.7 degrees and the minimum at 29.9 degrees Celsius. The weather department has predicted dry weather for the next three days.

Heat may increase further in Jodhpur

The maximum temperature recorded in Jodhpur on Thursday was around 42 degrees Celsius. The effect of humidity and hot winds continued in the city. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may increase further in the coming four to five days and the heatwave situation may become more serious. Experts have advised people to avoid unnecessary going out in the afternoon, drink enough water and adopt measures to protect from heat.
