IPL 2026: The 66th match of IPL 2026 was played between Gujarat Titans and 5-time champion Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Although it was very important for CSK to win the match for the playoffs but it could not happen. By winning this match by 89 runs, Gujarat Titans not only confirmed their second position in the points table but also showed CSK the way out of the tournament.

This was the last league match between CSK and Gujarat. The picture regarding the fourth team in the playoffs is not yet clear. Still, one of Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals can qualify for the playoffs.

Which team will be the fourth in the playoffs?

Now there is a battle for the playoffs between Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, KKR and Delhi Capitals. In which Rajasthan has the maximum chances. Because they only have to win their match, they are not dependent on the results of any other team. Punjab Kings and KKR can reach 15 points each by winning their respective matches. Whereas Delhi will be able to reach only 14 points. On the other hand, if Rajasthan wins its next match then it will have 16 points and with 16 points the team will easily qualify for the playoffs. But if Rajasthan loses its match then Punjab and KKR will have a chance.

Which would like to improve the net run rate further by winning their respective last matches by a big margin, because if Rajasthan loses and Punjab-KKR wins, then the fourth team for the playoffs will be decided on the basis of net run rate. Punjab Kings have to play their last match against Lucknow Super Giants who are at the bottom of the points table and are already eliminated. On the other hand, KKR has to play its match with Delhi Capitals, while Rajasthan’s next match will be with Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium. This match will decide which team will go to the playoffs.

How is the condition of the points table?

Currently, RCB remains at the top in the points table. Having won 9 and lost 4 out of 13 matches, currently RCB has 18 points, but by winning their next match, RCB can reach 20 points. Which will be played with Sunrisers Hyderabad today. Apart from this, Gujarat Titans is at second position with 18 points.

Sunrisers Hyderabad is at third position with 16 points and Rajasthan Royals is currently at fourth position with 14 points. Whereas Punjab Kings is at fifth position with 13 points and KKR is at sixth position with 13 points. CSK is at seventh position but the team is out. Delhi Capitals is in eighth place with 12 points.
