A Lahore sessions court has confirmed the interim bail of YouTubers Rajab Butt and Zarak Nazir in a case to the alleged promotion of an online gambling application.

Additional Sessions Judge Zulfiqar Ahmed approved the bail of both accused against surety bonds worth Rs100,000 each. The case was registered over accusations that the social media personalities promoted online betting platforms through digital content and advertisements.

According to the court’s written verdict, investigators failed to present any affected individual who claimed they became involved in gambling due to the accused persons’ promotional activities. The court also noted that forensic reports of the suspects’ mobile phones had not yet been received, making further investigation necessary before reaching a final conclusion.

The verdict stated that the final decision regarding conviction or acquittal would only be made after completion of the trial proceedings and review of all evidence presented before the court.

Rajab Butt remains one of Pakistan’s most-followed YouTubers and social media influencers, often making headlines for controversies and viral online content. The case has sparked debate on social media regarding the role of digital influencers in promoting betting or gaming platforms, especially among younger audiences.

Authorities in Pakistan have recently intensified scrutiny of online gambling- content and digital promotions, warning influencers and content creators against endorsing unlawful platforms or applications.

The case against Rajab Butt and Zarak Nazir is expected to proceed in the coming weeks as investigators continue collecting evidence and forensic material.
