Daughter. We read the history of foreign countries, we learn about other civilizations; But don’t know about local great men. This indifference towards our great men is very sad for us. If we do not tell the coming generations about our great men, then it will not take long for them to be erased from history. It is a question of our identity as to how we remember our great men. Rajkumar Shukla is also one such hero of the freedom struggle, who did not find a place in the pages of history.

Whereas the truth is that if there was anyone who made Gandhiji a Mahatma, it was Rajkumar Shukla. The above mentioned things were said by former Regional Education Deputy Director Brajesh Ojha. He was addressing hundreds of litterateurs present at the launch ceremony of the book ‘Neel Nayak’ of famous playwright and convener of Champaran Sahitya Sansthan, Dr. Diwakar Rai, in the auditorium of Serajem. Before this, the guests started the program with lighting of the lamp and chanting of Vedic mantras. After this, Abhash Jha recited the auspicious prayer of Shiva Vandana. After that, all the incoming guests were welcomed and honored with Angavastra. Then all the guests inaugurated the play ‘Neel Nayak’ written by Dr. Diwakar Rai. After the launch, the guests expressed their serious views on the book.

Expressing his views on the book, Mani Bhushan Rai, the bearer of Rajkumar Shukla’s lineage, said that the present system has forgotten such great men who spent their entire lives in the liberation of India from the British, without caring for their families. The names of only a few people are included among the heroes of independence, how sad it is. Dr. Diwakar Rai’s work ‘Neel Nayak’ is an attempt to establish such real heroes. It is a matter of good fortune for me and the entire Champaran that a play based on Pandit Rajkumar Shukla has been produced. On this occasion, senior litterateur Suresh Kumar Gupta threw light on the Nilha movement of Champaran in detail and mentioned various incidents of ‘Neel Nayak’. Among those who expressed their views on the book, former Block Education Officer Vinod Kumar Singh demanded to install Pandit ji’s statue in the district headquarters and called upon all people to come forward for this. Dr. Surendra Prasad Kesari, former principal of Maharani Janaki Kunwar College, discussed various books written on the background of the Nilha movement. Senior litterateur Nand Kumar Mishra, while remembering various freedom fighters of Champaran, requested to convey their great sacrifices and sacrifices to today’s new generation.
