Meloni shared a video on social media, in which she is heard saying, “Prime Minister Modi has brought a very nice toffee for me – Melody.”
“Thank you for the gift,” he wrote along with the video. In this video uploaded on Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi is also seen and is seen laughing at Meloni’s mention of ‘Melody’ toffee. The hashtag ‘Melody’, a combination of the names of Modi and Meloni, was first coined by the Italian Prime Minister during the COP-28 summit held in Dubai in 2023. After this, it went viral on social media amid the warm meetings between the two leaders on global platforms.
Even at that time, Meloni, while sharing a picture with Modi on social media, had written with the hashtag ‘Melody’, “Good friends in COP-28.” Prime Minister Modi arrived in Rome on Tuesday on the last leg of his five-nation visit to UAE, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy from May 15 to 20. He is here at the invitation of the Italian Prime Minister, where the two leaders will discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, defence, clean energy and technology.
