Knews DeskThe effect of rising inflation in the country is now clearly visible on people’s favorite street food. Delhi’s famous Sita Ram Diwan Chand has increased the prices of its Chole-Bhatura. At this famous shop located in Paharganj, now customers will have to pay more than before for a plate of Chole-Bhatura.
According to the report, whereas earlier a plate of Chole-Bhatura was available for Rs 95, now its price has been increased to Rs 100. Apart from this, the price of single Bhature has also been increased from Rs 55 to Rs 60. Shop operators say that this decision had to be taken due to the continuous increase in the prices of commercial gas and other essential commodities.
Impact of gas crisis and expensive fuel
Due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East, there is a rise in the prices of crude oil and gas in the international market. Its effect is visible in India also. Commercial gas cylinders have become expensive for hotels, restaurants and street food traders. In such a situation, running a business is becoming difficult.
The shop employees say that it was becoming difficult to meet the business expenses without increasing the prices. However, he also says that there has been no major decline in the number of customers and people are coming to enjoy the taste like before.
Limited impact on customers
Many customers who came to eat Chole-Bhatura say that the increase of Rs 5-10 does not matter much in comparison to the taste and quality. People believe that inflation is affecting everything, hence even food items cannot remain untouched by it.
Increasing pressure on street food business
Experts believe that if fuel and gas prices continue to rise like this, then other food outlets and restaurants may also increase prices in the future. This will affect the pockets of common people and the cost of the street food industry will also continue to increase.
