How to make Manchurian from leftover rice
Almost everyone likes to enjoy street food. Whenever they feel like eating something tasty and spicy, people are often attracted towards Chinese cuisine. Among these, Manchurian is a popular option. Usually it is made from various vegetables, but this time you can prepare it from leftover rice. This recipe is not only delicious, but it is also very easy to make. Let us know the simple method of making Rice Manchurian and how much time will it take to prepare it.
Ingredients for Crispy Manchurian
Leftover cooked rice – 2 cups
– Finely chopped vegetables – carrot, cabbage, capsicum
– Finely chopped onion – 2
– Ginger-garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
– Cornflour – 2 to 3 spoons
– Flour – 2 spoons
– Red chilli powder and black pepper powder – 1/2-1/2 tsp
– Salt – as per taste
– Oil
– Soy sauce – 1 teaspoon
– Red chili sauce – 1 teaspoon
– Tomato Ketchup – 2 spoons
– Cornflour Slurry – Dissolve 1 teaspoon cornflour in 2 teaspoons water.
Process to make Rice Manchurian
– First of all, put the remaining rice in a large mixing bowl and mash it well with hands.
Now add all the finely chopped vegetables, onion, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli, black pepper and salt.
– Add flour and cornflour to bind the mixture. Knead it well with hands without adding water.
-If the mixture seems wet, add a little more cornflour. Now apply a little oil on your hands and make small round Manchurian balls.
– Heat oil in a pan. When the oil gets heated well, reduce the flame to medium.
Now put the Manchurian balls in oil one by one and deep fry until golden and crispy.
– Take out the fried Manchurian on tissue paper.
Method to prepare Manchurian
– Heat 2 spoons of oil in another pan. Add chopped garlic, ginger and green chillies and fry on high flame for 30 seconds.
Now reduce the flame and add soya sauce, chilli sauce and tomato ketchup and mix.
– Add half a cup of water to this sauce and let it boil. Then add prepared cornflour slurry into it, which will thicken the sauce.
– Finally add the Manchurian balls of fried rice and mix well with the sauce on high flame. Turn off the gas after 1 minute.
How to serve Rice Manchurian
After the hot Manchurian is ready, garnish it with finely chopped green onions and serve it as evening tea or party snack. If you want to eat it as dry Manchurian, then keep the amount of water in the sauce less.
