The unique story of Bhima's hunger and this fast

The story of this fast is related to Bhima, which makes it strict. Bhima had the most strength among the five Pandavas. Bhima also felt hungry the most. At that time Vedvyas ji advised the Pandavas to observe fast on every Ekadashi. On this, Bhima raised his hands and said, 'He is not behind in devotion, but he will not be able to stay hungry.' Then Ved Vyas ji told Bhima that if he fasts on Ekadashi even for one day this summer without water, then he will get the virtue of all the Ekadashi fasts. Bhima accepted the challenge. Since then this fast came to be called Bhimseni or Bhim Ekadashi.
