Kathmandu. Many nearby houses including the school building at Chankheli Danfe were damaged due to flash flood and subsequent landslide this morning in Nepka village located in Chankheli of Humla, Himalayan district of Nepal.
According to Chhak Bahadur Tamang, a resident of Chankheli, the strong current washed away the school building along with agricultural land and cattle.
The houses and cattle of Chankheli ward president Harkdhan Tamang and Dhansingh Tamang were also buried in the landslide. The sheep and goats present there have also been harmed.
DSP Shankar Khadka, head of the District Sentinel Office, said that the detailed details of the total damage caused by this flood and landslide have not been received yet. He informed that the police team has left for the landslide affected area.
Chankheli village municipality, located north-east of Humla Sadarmukam Simkot, has four villages including Tallo Pali, Upper Pali, Piplang and Nepka. One has to travel on foot for about five hours to reach Nepka village, which is located far away from Pipland, the village center.
