The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is soon going to release the notification for the CDS 2 Examination 2026. Through this examination, recruitment is conducted for officer-level positions in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Every year, a large number of candidates appear for this examination. The UPSC will release the notification for the CDS 2 Examination on May 20, 2026. The application process will be conducted online. The examination is scheduled to be held in September.

**Applications Accepted Until June 9**
The application process for CDS 2 2026 will commence on May 20 and continue until June 9, 2026. Applications will be accepted exclusively through the online mode. Candidates are advised to carefully read the official notification before filling out the form to avoid any errors.

**Written Examination in September**
The CDS 2 Examination will be conducted by the UPSC on September 13, 2026. The examination will be held in offline mode at various examination centers across the country. The CDS examination is conducted twice every year—the first examination takes place in April, and the second in September.

**Admission to These Military Academies**
Through the CDS examination, candidates are selected for admission to several prestigious military academies. These include the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers Training Academy (OTA). Upon completing their training at these institutions, candidates are commissioned as officers in the defense forces.

**Educational Qualifications and Age Limit**
For the IMA and OTA, a bachelor's degree from a recognized university is mandatory. For the Indian Naval Academy, an engineering degree is required. Meanwhile, for the Air Force Academy, a bachelor's degree is required, along with having studied Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 (intermediate) level. Generally, candidates must be between 19 and 24 years of age, while for the OTA, the maximum age limit is set at 25 years.

**The Selection Process**
The CDS recruitment process begins with a written examination. Candidates who qualify in this stage are called for an SSB (Services Selection Board) interview. This is followed by a medical examination, after which the final merit list is published. Selection is based on merit and medical fitness.
