Following the release of the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2026 results, the process for rechecking and re-evaluation has now commenced for students, starting from May 19. Students who have doubts regarding their marks can now apply for various services—ranging from obtaining scanned copies of their answer sheets to the re-verification of marks and full re-evaluation. This year, the Board has introduced significant changes to the fee structure, making these facilities available to students at a lower cost compared to previous years. The Board has also officially released the application dates for these services. Students can submit their applications online via the official website.
**Application Process for Scanned Copies**
CBSE has provided students with the opportunity to view their answer sheets. Students can obtain digitally scanned copies of their answer sheets by applying between May 19 and May 22, 2026. A fee of ₹100 per subject has been fixed for this service. Once the application is submitted, the scanned copies will be made available on the students' login dashboards.
**Changes in Fees for Rechecking and Re-evaluation**
This year, the Board has implemented a substantial reduction in fees. Applications for the verification of marks (rechecking) can be submitted from May 26 to May 29. A fee of ₹100 per subject is applicable for this service. Meanwhile, applications for the re-evaluation of specific questions will be accepted from May 31 to June 5, requiring a fee of ₹25 per question.
**How to Apply**
First, visit the official CBSE website. Next, open the 'Post Result Services' section. Log in by entering your Roll Number and other necessary details. Then, select the required service—whether it is obtaining scanned copies of answer sheets, marks verification, or re-evaluation. After correctly entering the subject and question numbers, submit the applicable fees online. Upon successful completion of the application, students will receive a receipt via SMS.
**Results Expected Within 7 to 15 Days**
Typically, the results for CBSE rechecking and re-evaluation are released within 7 to 15 days. This time, discussions regarding the on-screen marking system have also intensified, as efforts are being made to make the evaluation process even more transparent.
**85.20 Percent of Students Pass This Year**
Approximately 17.80 lakh students registered for the CBSE Class 12 Board Examinations in 2026. Of these, more than 15 lakh students have been declared successful. According to the Board, the overall pass percentage stood at 85.20 percent. Meanwhile, approximately 1.63 lakh students have been placed in the compartment category, requiring them to retake the examination in one or more subjects.
