New Delhi: Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, who has been sitting in the safe haven of India since August 5, has suddenly thrown a political dice, which has created an earthquake not only in Bangladesh but in the politics of the entire subcontinent. While living in India, Sheikh Hasina has detonated such an atom bomb in the political corridors of Dhaka, due to which the ground has slipped from under the feet of the interim government and the fundamentalists there.

For those who had considered Sheikh Hasina politically ‘finished’ after ousting her from power, this latest stand of the former Prime Minister is no less than a big shock. The fundamentalists who attack Hindus are nervous at this time and Khaleda Zia’s party leader Tariq Rehman is also deep in thought. Sitting in India, Sheikh Hasina has made it clear that her absence and silence should not be considered as her weakness, because she is going to step on the soil of Bangladesh very soon.

“There have been 19 deadly attacks, now let’s see who stops me.”

In a media email interview, Sheikh Hasina has made it clear that she is continuously fighting for the restoration of democracy in the country. Regarding his return, he said that there is no fixed date for his return, but it will depend on when the democratic environment, freedom of expression and political rights are restored in Bangladesh.

The biggest bombshell came when Sheikh Hasina, ignoring the threat to her life, said in a very aggressive manner:

Many big political meanings are now being inferred from this statement of Sheikh Hasina. Even though an interim government is running under the leadership of Mohammad Yunus after the coup in Bangladesh, the attacks on Awami League leaders and supporters at the grassroots level have still not stopped.

‘Silent political genocide’ going on in Dhaka

Making very serious allegations against the interim government, Sheikh Hasina claimed that a ‘silent political genocide’ is currently being carried out against Awami League leaders and workers in Bangladesh. According to him, hundreds of leaders and workers have been brutally murdered, while more than 1.5 lakh people have been imprisoned in false cases.

Not only this, he also alleged that the houses, lands and businesses of Awami League supporters including Hindus are being selectively targeted. On the efforts of the interim government to ban the Awami League, he said bluntly:

Bangladesh is burning in the fire of fundamentalism

In her interview, Sheikh Hasina raised the issue of radicalism at the international level. He warned that Bangladesh is once again moving towards the same dangerous and dark period, when fundamentalist forces were getting stronger there and the influence of terrorists was increasing. She is presenting herself as a face who can save Bangladesh from burning in the fire of fundamentalism and terrorism.

Along with this, he also gave a big statement on the relations between India and Bangladesh. He said that India is not just a neighboring country, but it has been the biggest and true partner of Bangladesh’s independence. But some political and fundamentalist groups always earn their living by creating anti-India atmosphere, which is absolutely wrong for the future of Bangladesh.

Now the biggest question remains whether the countdown for Sheikh Hasina’s return to Dhaka has started? Is there going to be any major civil war or political conflict in Bangladesh again? At present, there is a strange silence in Dhaka, but behind this silence is hidden a huge political storm, whose name is Sheikh Hasina.
