Bhopal: The death of Twisha Sharma was a case of suicide and not murder, Bhopal Police asserted even as her family continues to accuse her husband and mother-in-law of harassment linked to dowry demands.
Speaking about the investigation, Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar told NDTV that the evidence collected so far does not support allegations of murder.
“What we have found so far from the post-mortem report and other evidence that we have collected is that it is a case of suicide and not of murder,” he said.
Twisha, a resident of Noida, was found hanging at her in-laws’ home in Bhopal on May 12. Her family has alleged that she faced mental harassment from her husband’s family over dowry-related issues.
