Washington. The US will host the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in Atlanta from October 30 to 31, where discussions are expected to focus on global economic challenges, resilient supply chains and strengthening international cooperation. The US State Department said on Monday that the meeting, to be chaired by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, will bring together foreign ministers from the world’s major economies to advance the G20’s core mission of promoting global stability and prosperity.
“Discussions will focus on strengthening international cooperation, addressing global economic challenges, and supporting open markets and flexible supply chains,” spokesman Tommy Pigott said in a statement. He said Atlanta, Georgia’s capital, provides an ideal location for these important discussions as a center of diplomacy, trade and global connectivity.
To commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, President Donald Trump will host the G20 leaders’ summit on December 14 and 15 at Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida. The G20, a group of the world’s emerging economies, includes major economies like the US, India, China, Russia, Japan, Germany, France, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Australia and the European Union. Together, these countries represent approximately 85 percent of global gross domestic product (GDP) and approximately two-thirds of the world’s population.
