Malihabad, Lucknow. In a tragic accident in Malihabad police station area, a passenger died after falling from Rapti Ganga Express. The deceased has been identified as Chandan Kumar, a resident of Sitamarhi, Bihar. The incident took place near pillar number 1099/27, about seven kilometers ahead of Malihabad railway station.
According to the information received, Chandan Kumar was going from Muzaffarpur to Dehradun with his family. During the journey he was sitting at the gate of the train. During this time, due to sudden loss of balance, he fell down from the moving train. He died on the spot due to serious head injury. After the accident, there was an atmosphere of chaos in the train and among the family members.
As soon as information about the incident was received, the local police reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The police informed the relatives of the deceased about the incident. As soon as the news of the accident was received, a wave of mourning ran in the family.
In this regard, Malihabad Inspector Surendra Singh Bhati said that the father of the deceased has reached the spot. The police have taken the body into their custody, completed the Panchayatnama proceedings and sent it for post-mortem. Further legal action is ongoing in the matter.
This accident once again highlights the seriousness of how dangerous traveling can be while sitting at the gate of a moving train. Railways and administration have been continuously appealing to the passengers for safe travel, yet such accidents keep happening.
