High Commission of India in Chattogram: The body of an Indian Protocol Officer in the Indian Assistant High Commission has been found in suspicious condition in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Bangladesh Police has recovered the body of a protocol officer from the Indian Assistant High Commission in Chittagong. After receiving information about the body, the body was sent to the mortuary of Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital for postmortem. At present the exact cause of death is not clear. Police is investigating the matter.
Who was Naren Dhar?
Please note that the name of the deceased protocol officer is Naren Dhar. In this case, Assistant Commissioner of Chittagong City Police, Aminur Rashid said that Naren Dhar was working as a protocol officer in the Indian Assistant High Commission. He said that after receiving the news, the police went to the spot and recovered his body at around 9:30 am, after which it was sent to the mortuary of CMC Hospital for autopsy.
What did the police say?
Bangladesh’s news website quoted police as saying that the body was found near the bathroom door of a data entry room on the second floor of the old Visa Center building. Aminur Rashid, assistant commissioner of public relations of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, said that we initially suspect that the officer may have died while going to the bathroom sometime during the night. But the exact cause of death has not been confirmed yet.
CMP Deputy Commissioner (Northern Zone) Amirul Islam said a case of unnatural death would be registered in connection with the incident and the body would be handed over to India’s Assistant High Commission officials after post-mortem.
