BJP chief Nitin Nabin has condoled the demise of former Uttarakhand CM Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri and said his contribution to the state's development journey will always be remembered.
Khanduri, 91, died at a private hospital in Dehradun on Tuesday, following a prolonged illness. The veteran BJP leader breathed his last around 11 am, his daughter and Uttarakhand assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan said.
In a post on X in Hindi, Nabin said, "The news about the demise of...Major General Bhuwan Chand Khanduri (Retd.), is extremely heartbreaking." He devoted his entire life to the service of the nation and the highest ideals of good governance, the BJP chief said.
BJP chief spokesperson Anil Baluni said it is an irreparable loss for Uttarakhand and the country.
