Thailand Visa for Indians
Thailand DTV Visa: As soon as the summer holidays begin, most people start planning their trips. But the question always arises: which destinations offer both leisure and leisure while minimizing the cost. In this context, Thailand has emerged as a great option for Indians. Its beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, delicious food, and budget-friendly luxury attract visitors. This is why a large number of Indians visit Thailand every year.
It's worth noting that Thailand has introduced the DTV visa for citizens of several eligible countries, including India. This allows people to not only visit Thailand but also stay there for extended periods. The special feature is that the visa fee is around 25,000 rupees, and it allows travel to Thailand for up to five years.
What is DTV Visa and who will benefit from it?
The Thai government has named this special visa the "Destination Thailand Visa," or DTV. It grants a 5-year multiple-entry visa, allowing individuals to travel to and from Thailand multiple times. This visa allows for a one-time stay of 180 days, which can be extended by another 180 days if needed. This means a person can stay for approximately one year continuously. This visa is specifically designed for digital nomads, freelancers, remote workers, and those working abroad for extended periods. An important rule is that applicants can work online for foreign companies or clients abroad, but cannot work for a Thai company without a Thai work permit.
Additionally, the DTV visa is being widely discussed as part of Thailand's "soft power" policy, which doesn't limit this visa to remote workers, but also includes programs related to culture and lifestyle, to promote the country's tourism and culture. Applicants can also apply for it, such as those taking Muay Thai training, joining Thai cooking classes, sports and fitness training, participating in medical tourism, or wellness programs. Applicants must be at least 20 years old and possess a valid passport.
Documents Required for DTV Visa
To apply, you must have a passport with at least six months' validity remaining. You'll also need to provide a passport-sized photo, bank statement, or salary-related documents to prove your financial situation. If you work remotely or for a foreign company, you'll need to provide proof of that. Additionally, you'll need to submit documents related to the program or activity you're attending in Thailand. In some cases, a police clearance certificate may also be required. Furthermore, if you're joining a Muay Thai training course, cooking class, or wellness program, you'll also need to provide an admission letter or invitation letter from that institution.
