Swiss International Air Lines is expanding its India network again. The airline has announced a new direct route between Zurich and Bengaluru for the 2026/27 winter season, marking its first-ever service to southern India.

The new route will operate five times a week and make Bengaluru the airline’s third destination in India after Delhi and Mumbai.

SWISS Bengaluru-Zurich Flight Schedule

As per the flight schedule published by SWISS, the new LX140 flight from Zurich to Bengaluru will operate daily except Mondays and Wednesdays. It will depart Zurich at 13:20 and arrive in Bengaluru at 02:55 the next day.

The return LX141 flight from Bengaluru to Zurich will run daily except Tuesdays and Thursdays, departing at 04:50 and arriving in Zurich at 10:50 the same day.

The flight time will be around nine hours.

According to SWISS CEO Jens Fehlinger, the airline sees Bengaluru as an important gateway to southern India and a key destination for travellers connected to the technology sector.

More Airbus A350 Flights Coming

SWISS is also expanding the use of its new Airbus A350 aircraft across its long-haul network.

After introducing the aircraft on routes to Boston and Seoul, the airline plans to add A350 services to Johannesburg and Shanghai during the winter schedule period.

The aircraft will feature the airline’s updated “SWISS Senses” cabin product, which includes redesigned seating and upgraded in-flight comfort across all travel classes.

Winter 2026/27 Network Plans

The airline says it will serve 88 destinations from Zurich and Geneva during the 2026/27 winter season. This includes 60 European and 24 intercontinental routes from Zurich alone.

However, some Geneva routes will be suspended because of ongoing aircraft and engine part shortages affecting the Airbus A220 fleet. Flights from Geneva to Berlin, Hamburg, and Pristina will not operate during the winter season.

The 2026/27 winter timetable will run from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027.
