Mumbai Indians have been dealt a major setback with both Quinton de Kock and Raj Angad Bawa ruled out for the rest of IPL 2026.
De Kock is sidelined with a tendon injury in his left wrist, picked up before the team’s home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Bawa suffered a ligament tear in his right thumb during the match against Punjab Kings.
De Kock had a memorable start to the season, smashing a century against Punjab Kings, but managed only 13 and 7 in his next two innings. Bawa scored 16 in his only batting outing and took two wickets across three appearances.
The club confirmed both players will recover at home under the guidance of the Mumbai Indians medical team, with replacements to be announced in line with IPL regulations.
Mumbai Indians have already been knocked out of playoff contention, sitting ninth on the points table with eight points from 12 games. They face Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens next, before wrapping up their season against Rajasthan Royals on May 24.
