New Delhi: Skoda has revealed the production-spec version of the Epiq, coming as the Czech carmaker’s most affordable EV to date. The Epiq had been previewed a couple of years ago, which was followed by a nearer-to-production-spec version at the 2025 Munich Motor Show. It will be coming as the brand’s new entry-level EV worldwide, sitting below Elroq.

Coming with Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language, the Epiq comes balancing upright proportions and rounded edges. At the front, the electric SUV comes with a ‘SKODA’ wordmark on the bonnet and a blacked-out grille section flanked by slim, angled DRLS. The main headlight units (Matrix LED headlights are available as options) flow downwards from the DRLs into ‘L’ shapes, and are connected by a black section in the bumper. Lower down, the Epiq comes with a chunky bumper with eight slats and a silver skid plate.

The Epiq’s side profile comes with subtle body cladding, aero-optimised alloy wheels sized between 17 inches and 19 inches, ‘SKODA’ lettering on the C-pillars, black roof rails, and a gently sloping roofline. T-shaped LED tail-lamps take centre stage on the back end, along with a high-set ‘SKODA’ wordmark, a sizable roof spoiler, and quite a similar slatted bumper design to that at the front.

The Epiq measures at 4,171mm in length, 1,798mm in width, 1,581mm in height, and comes with a wheelbase of 2,601mm. It also gets an impressive low drag coefficient of 0.275.

Skoda has filled the cabin with plenty of physical controls in the Epiq’s cabin, specifically underneath the central AC vents and even on the steering wheel. Strips of ambient lighting go across the dashboard and door liners, and there is also a floating centre console with plenty of storage spaces.

Based on the trim, the Epiq comes with creature comforts like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, a 10-speaker Canton sound system, and even V2L and V2V functionalities. In terms of safety, it gets an ADAS suite, 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and the lot. Bootspace stands at 475 litres, and there’s a frunk of 25 litres as well.

Skoda Epiq powertrain

The Epiq rides on the MEB+ platform like the Volkswagen ID. Polo. There are two battery options on offer, which are  38.5kWh and 55kWh, all with front-mounted motors (FWD). There are three trims called the 35, 40 and 55. The 25 and 40 get the 38.5 kWh battery pack, which has an output of 116 hp and 135 hp, respectively, and the torque is fixed at 267 Nm of torque. The top-spec Epiq 55 gets the 55 kWh pack and has an output of 211hp and 290 Nm of torque.

Skoda has claimed 310 km of range for the 38.5 kWh battery pack and 440 km for the 55 kWh unit. For the bigger battery, 10-80 per cent is claimed with DC fast charging, which is claimed at about 24 minutes.
