Kenya Oil Crisis: Petrol and diesel are becoming a global crisis. Amidst the increasing tension in West Asia, the petrol diesel crisis is deepening in Kenya. Anger has flared up among the citizens here. Violent demonstrations have started on the streets. Due to the tension spread in the Middle East, the supply of oil has been affected the most, due to which the prices are continuously increasing.

Crowds of people have taken to the streets from the capital Nairobi to other big cities. And arson has also taken place at many places.

Vehicles have been stopped at many places by the protesters. There has been a fire and the entire public transport system has almost come to a standstill. The situation in the country has become so bad that four people have lost their lives in the protests. Dozens of people have been injured. Inflation and fuel crisis have had a big impact on the government of Kenya.

Blocking the Strait of Hormuz, an important sea transport route, has affected not only Kenya but various African countries. Last week the Kenyan government had increased oil prices. The government had increased the prices of diesel by 23.5 percent, due to which the transport workers started the strike. Demonstrations began on the outskirts of the capital Nairobi on Monday morning. People set fire and removed barricades on the roads.

Kenyan Home Minister Kipchumba Murkomen also talked to journalists about this. He said that it is sad that we lost four Kenyan citizens in today’s violence.
