The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has announced a major upgrade to its bus services aimed at improving passenger convenience and reducing travel time. Under the guidance of Gujarat Home and Transport Minister Harsh Sanghavi, premium AC buses connecting key cities will now operate through newly developed expressways, making journeys faster, smoother, and more affordable for commuters.
Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar Route Gets Faster, Cheaper
As part of the new initiative, all premium AC buses running between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar will now travel via the newly constructed Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway.
According to GSRTC, 24 trips will operate daily on this route, with one bus running every hour from 5 AM to 6 PM. In addition, buses travelling from Gandhinagar to Diu and Mahua will also use the same expressway corridor.
The new route is expected to significantly reduce travel time while also lowering fares. The AC bus fare between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar has now been reduced to Rs 336, giving passengers a direct saving of Rs 15 per ticket.
Non-Stop Volvo Service Between Ahmedabad and Surat
GSRTC has also launched a new non-stop Volvo bus service between Ahmedabad and Surat via the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
Under the revised schedule, the Volvo bus will depart from Nehru Nagar in Ahmedabad for Surat at 6:45 AM, while the return service from Surat to Ahmedabad will leave at 1 PM.
Thanks to expressway connectivity, passengers can expect a much quicker journey. The fare from Nehru Nagar to Surat has been fixed at Rs 687, allowing travellers to save nearly Rs 61 per ticket compared to earlier services.
The move is expected to benefit thousands of daily and long-distance passengers by offering quicker connectivity, greater comfort, and reduced travel costs across major Gujarat routes.
