Whereas wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been kept out of the ODI squad, although he has retained his place in the Test team. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been rested before the England tour so that his workload can be balanced. On the other hand, Mohammed Shami was once again ignored. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar clearly said that Shami’s name was not even discussed in the selection meeting.
