Quetta. A leading human rights organization has expressed concern over the increasing human rights violations in Pakistan’s Balochistan. The organization said that forced disappearances, torture and extrajudicial killings by Pakistani security forces continue there. In its report, the Human Rights Department of Baloch National Movement ‘PANK’ said that in the month of March this year, cases of extrajudicial killing of 29 people were reported across Balochistan. The organization said these incidents show the ‘dangerous consequences of unchecked government power’.

Apart from this, cases of enforced disappearance of 56 people were also registered, which clearly shows that civilians are being systematically targeted. Pank said that the cases that came to light in March 2026 clearly show that repression, arbitrary arrests, physical and mental torture and unlawful killings are continuing on behalf of the state. These atrocities being carried out by Pakistani security forces are creating an environment of fear and lack of accountability in Balochistan.
The organization appealed to international human rights organizations, the United Nations and civil society to immediately pay attention to the deteriorating situation in Balochistan and take action against those responsible, as well as to ensure justice and the safety of civilians. Meanwhile, human rights organization Baloch Yakjehti Committee has strongly condemned the murder of academician Gamkhar Hayat. The organization called it an attempt to suppress ‘knowledge, writing and awareness’.
