New Delhi: Punjab singer Inder Kaur, famously known as Yashinder Kaur, was found dead in the Neelo canal near Ludhiana, days after she went missing. The 29-year-old musician had been untraceable since May 13. Her body was recovered on Tuesday (May 19) morning around 11 am. Police have launched a murder investigation and are looking at multiple aspects of the case. Her body has been kept at the Civil Hospital in Samrala for post-mortem examination and further legal procedures.
According to the Punjab New Live website, the singer’s family has alleged that she was kidnapped at gunpoint and pressured to get married against her will. However, she refused the marriage proposal and was later murdered. As per her brother, she left home at 6:30 pm on May 13 to purchase household items. When she did not return home, her family and relatives started looking for her and later approached the police.
