This is the second increase in less than a week. Last Friday, oil companies also raised petrol and diesel prices by about 3 rupees per liter.

Petrol in Delhi has reached Rs 98.64 and diesel Rs 91.58 per litre
Petrol in Mumbai has reached Rs 107.59 and diesel Rs 94.08 per litre
Petrol in Kolkata has been recorded at Rs 109.70 and diesel Rs 96.07 per litre
Petrol in Chennai has reached Rs 104.49 and diesel Rs 96.11 per litre
In Jaipur, the price of petrol has now increased to Rs 108.84 and diesel Rs 94.12 per litre
Government oil companies are running in losses.
Indian government oil companies had not increased the retail prices in the last four years. Due to the increase in the price of crude oil globally, these companies were incurring a loss of about Rs 1000 crores daily, to compensate for which the rates are now being increased gradually. After the increase of Rs 3 yesterday, the loss has reduced a bit to Rs 750 crores per day. Now it remains to be seen how much help today increase will provides in compensating this loss. Let us tell you that the price of crude oil is increasing rapidly in the international markets, which has now crossed $100-110 per barrel.
