PM Kisan: A Major Update on the 23rd Installment of the PM Kisan Scheme! Find out exactly when the ₹2,000 installment might arrive in June-July, and discover the 3 common errors that could cause your payment to get stuck.
PM Kisan: Anticipation is mounting regarding the next installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme—an initiative designed to provide financial support to the country’s small and marginal farmers. On March 13, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 22nd installment of the scheme from Guwahati, Assam, by pressing a remote button; under this release, ₹2,000 each was transferred into the bank accounts of over 93 million farmers.
Now, the eyes of millions of farmers across the nation are fixed on the 23rd installment. If you, too, are awaiting this payment, it is crucial for you to know exactly when the funds are expected to arrive and what specific oversights could lead to your installment being withheld.
In Which Month Will the Funds Be Credited to Your Account?
Under the PM Kisan scheme, the government provides annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 to farmers, disbursed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. The fixed schedule for these payments is as follows:
First Installment: Between April and July
Second Installment: Between August and November
Third Installment: Between December and March
Since the 22nd installment was released in March, the new cycle (April–July) has now officially commenced. According to experts and current assessments, the funds for the 23rd installment could be transferred to farmers’ bank accounts at any time between June and July 2026. However, the Ministry of Agriculture has yet to make an official announcement regarding the precise date.
These 3 Errors Could Halt Your Payment
It frequently happens that while the government releases the funds, the amount fails to reach the bank accounts of certain farmers. To avoid this, immediately verify these three things:
e-KYC: If your e-KYC is incomplete, your installment will be withheld. You can complete this process from the comfort of your home via OTP on the PM Kisan portal, or by visiting a nearby Common Service Center (CSC) to use biometric verification.
Aadhaar-Bank Seeding: The government transfers funds directly into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism. Therefore, ensure that your bank account is both linked to your primary identity document (Aadhaar) and remains active.
Land Verification: It is mandatory for the agricultural land registered in your name to be verified against official government records. If any discrepancies are detected during this process, your name will be removed from the beneficiary list.
Government Keeps a Strict Watch on Ineligible Beneficiaries
To maintain transparency within the scheme, the government has significantly tightened the rules:
Land Purchase: Individuals who have purchased agricultural land after February 1, 2019, are excluded from the scope of these benefits.
One Family, One Benefit: Both a husband and wife belonging to the same family (sharing a single Ration Card) cannot independently avail the benefits of this scheme. If such a violation is discovered during verification, the installment will be withheld, and recovery proceedings may be initiated.
Check Your Status in a Few Simple Steps
There is no need to visit any government office to check whether your name appears on the list of beneficiaries. You can check your status using your mobile phone by following the steps outlined below:
First, visit the official website: pmkisan.gov.in.
Scroll down to the bottom of the homepage and locate the ‘Farmers Corner’ section.
Click on the ‘Know Your Status’ option within this section.
Now, enter either your Registration Number or your Aadhaar details (Verification ID).
Enter the Captcha code displayed on the screen and click on ‘Get Data’ or ‘Get Status’. A complete record of all your installments will then be displayed.
