The court has made it clear that the order to remove stray dogs will not change. Their attacks are worrying. The Municipal Corporation will catch stray dogs, sterilize and vaccinate them. Rabies infected ferocious dogs will not be released back. A separate shelter home should be prepared for dogs with dangerous behavior and Stray dogs cannot be fed in open places. Not only this, the Supreme Court said that a national policy should be made for stray dogs.

Till now the biggest question raised was that if someone gets injured or dies due to the attack of stray dogs, then who will be responsible, the municipal body of that area or the people who feed the dogs? The court is also strict regarding such cases because the graph of incidents is not stopping. In 2024 alone, 37 lakh cases of stray dog ​​bites were reported.

How much have the cases of dog bites increased?

If we look at the records of the last 3 years, it is clear that the cases of dog bites have increased rapidly in the country. dog bites in 2022 There were 21,89,909 incidents. In 2023, his graph increased to 30,52,521. In 2024, there was a rapid increase in dog bite cases and more than 37 lakh cases were reported. The data graph shows that such cases are increasing very rapidly in the country. If we talk only about the month of January in 2025, then more than 4.25 lakh cases were reported.

If we look at the figures of 2024, there has been maximum dog terror in Maharashtra. Maximum 4,85,345 cases were reported here. With 4,80,427 cases of dog bites, Tamil Nadu stood second and Gujarat stood third. There were 3,92,837 cases here. Karnataka (3,61,494) is at fourth and Bihar (2,63,930) is at fifth.
