Savanur: A labourer died after being hit by a tree branch while cutting a tree in Kudmaru village, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Mohan A.K. (55), a resident of Agali in Kaymana village.
Incident detailsThe incident occurred near Ermettimar in Kudmaru village while Mohan and his co-worker Devanna were engaged in cutting a tree located near the house of a person identified as Nithin.
According to reports, Mohan was pulling a nylon rope tied to the tree while it was being cut from the base. During the process, a branch from the tree struck him, causing serious injuries.
He was first taken to a hospital in Puttur and later shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment. However, he died without responding to treatment.
A case has been registered at Bellare Police Station based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s son, Sanath Kumar.
