Warner Bros. Games and TT Games have officially confirmed the launch schedule for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, the highly anticipated new entry in the LEGO Batman franchise. The game is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on May 22, 2026, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version will launch later on a date that has not yet been officially announced.
According to the latest reports, console players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will gain access at midnight local time in their respective regions. PC players, however, are expected to receive the game through a staggered global rollout on Steam and Epic Games Store platforms. Deluxe Edition buyers will also receive 72-hour early access beginning May 19, allowing fans to explore Gotham several days before the standard launch.
The game marks the fourth major installment in the LEGO Batman series and is being developed using Unreal Engine 5. Developers have confirmed that the new title takes heavy inspiration from the Batman: Arkham games while still maintaining the humor and family-friendly gameplay style associated with LEGO titles.
Players will once again step into the role of Batman while exploring an open-world Gotham City filled with villains, side missions, gadgets and iconic vehicles. Confirmed playable characters include Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Catwoman and Jim Gordon. Villains such as Joker, Bane, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Two-Face and Ra’s al Ghul are also confirmed to appear in the storyline.
One of the biggest talking points surrounding the game is its redesigned combat system. TT Games has reportedly focused on creating deeper gameplay mechanics inspired by Arkham-style combat while making the controls accessible for casual players and younger audiences. Traversal mechanics like gliding, grappling hooks and Batmobile driving are also expected to play a major role throughout Gotham City exploration.
The game was originally scheduled for release on May 29, 2026, but Warner Bros. later moved the launch forward by one week. Reports suggest the adjustment helped the developers secure a better release window after several major games shifted schedules earlier this year.
Standard Edition pre-orders are now available for around $69.99, while the Deluxe Edition is priced at approximately $89.99 and includes bonus content packs, extra suits, Batmobiles and upcoming DLC expansions.
