Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks are coming up on Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday.
The Cavs are hot off a road win over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, while the Knicks have been resting since their sweep over the Philadelphia 76ers on May 10. So, the Knicks have the advantage of being rested up and ready to go.
Now, New York has another advantage. They just got an OG Anunoby update that’s nothing but good news.
Knicks get great OG Anunoby update ahead of Game 1 vs. Cavaliers
After plenty of questions surrounding OG Anunoby’s hamstring injury, ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania delivered a clear and positive update Monday on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
According to Charania’s report, Anunoby is expected to be able to play in Game 1, set for Tuesday evening at Madison Square Garden.
That is big news for the Knicks as the team gets ready for this significant series. Anunoby experienced a low-grade right hamstring strain while playing in Game 2 of the Knicks’ second-round series against the 76ers. Before the injury, Anunoby had been playing extremely well, so it was a blow to the team to lose him, even though they were still able to sweep the 76ers.
If Anunoby stays healthy and can play against the Cavaliers, that increases the Knicks’ chances of taking down Cleveland in what’s shaping up to be a close and contentious series.
