The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the  death case has rejected claims that drugs were found in her post-mortem report, directly contradicting allegations made by her in-laws, including retired judge Giribala Singh. SIT chief Rajneesh Kashyap said no such evidence had emerged during the investigation and accused persons were being traced through an intensified police operation.

'Nothing Related To Drugs In Post-Mortem'

"Nothing related to drugs has emerged in Twisha's post-mortem report. No such fact has come to light," Kashyap said during an interaction on the investigation.
The statement comes amid growing controversy over attempts made by the accused side to question Twisha's mental health and personal life following her death. Twisha's family has repeatedly alleged that efforts were being made to weaken the case by spreading narratives around anxiety medication and alleged drug use.
The SIT was constituted to probe the case after allegations of police partiality. However, Kashyap denied allegations of external pressure. "There is no pressure of any kind on the police. The investigation is being carried out fairly," he said.
The SIT chief also admitted that lapses had occurred during the early stages of investigation. Referring to the controversy over a belt allegedly used in the suicide not being properly seized initially, Kashyap said, "Negligence on the part of the then investigating officer has come to light regarding the belt not being deposited. Legal action is being taken accordingly."

Husband Samarth Singh Absconding, Reward Announced For Information

According to investigators,   allegedly died by suicide using a gymnastics belt typically used for hanging exercises.
Meanwhile, pressure has mounted on police to arrest Twisha's husband Samarth Singh, who remains absconding. Bhopal Police has now announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for information leading to his arrest. ACP Rajneesh Kashyap said multiple teams were searching for him and that steps had also been initiated to suspend his passport.
"The number of teams searching for the absconding accused Samarth Singh has been increased. A reward of Rs 10,000 has been announced on him by the DCP Zone-2. Coordination has also been made with the passport office to initiate suspension proceedings of his passport," Kashyap said.
He added that five to six teams were already deployed and more could be added if required.

Husband Samarth's Anticipatory Bail Plea Rejected

Samarth Singh's anticipatory bail plea was rejected in court Monday. The defence mounted an aggressive argument questioning allegations of dowry harassment and abetment as the hearing began.
Samarth's lawyer argued that Twisha spent money heavily and that there was no evidence of dowry transactions or financial pressure. "There is no case of dowry. There is no evidence of any monetary transaction," the defence told the court.
The lawyer further argued that Twisha's mental state did not appear disturbed on the day of the incident. "Twisha went to a parlour that very day. An Amazon parcel was also ordered the same day, and the parcel has still not been opened," he said, suggesting her behaviour appeared normal before her death.
Raising further questions, the defence asked whether Twisha could have been blackmailed. "We also want to know the reason behind the unnatural death. Was Twisha being blackmailed? We have filed an application under Section 94," the lawyer argued.
The defence also claimed a Volkswagen car key and a flat key were recovered from Twisha's room and demanded further investigation into their connection. "We want to know where those belong," the lawyer said.
The defence repeatedly questioned why Twisha returned to her matrimonial home if she was allegedly being harassed. "If that was the case, then why did she keep returning to her in-laws' house? Was it because of our love or because of harassment?" the lawyer argued.
Questions were also raised over Twisha's medication. "We want the police to investigate the medicines she was taking," Samarth's lawyer said, adding that she consumed anxiety pills, "which can happen to anyone".
Seeking more time from the court, Samarth's lawyer requested two days to gather additional evidence.
Twisha's counsel, meanwhile, countered by asking whether her bank account was being operated by her husband, arguing that all such issues formed part of the ongoing investigation. The lawyer also reportedly read out her   before the court during arguments.
