Clarkson's Farm fans do not have long to wait until the new series of the Amazon Prime Video hit returns to screens. However, a new trailer for season five shows it comes with an alarming development: Jeremy Clarkson is struck by a health problem, leaving him under strict doctors' orders to take it easy. "You've got three arteries in your heart to keep it pumping, my heart was not getting any blood," Jeremy tells co-star Kaleb Cooper in the series five trailer, while reflecting on being taken to the hospital.

But rest is not an option for the 66-year-old who runs Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire. After being dealt his major health news, which sees him admit his "doctor wants him to stop talking, and Amazon want him to stop talking", he is also given some devastating news as he's told the whole farm needs to be "put under restrictions", leaving the TV star and Kaleb Cooper dumbstruck.

To make matters worse, his pub, The Farmer's Dog, is being plagued by ongoing issues, such as when dozens of travellers pitch up on the property.

On top of that, a government budget which has sent shockwaves through the farming community makes it impossible for Jeremy and his co-stars to slow down.

As the series unfolds, Jeremy becomes inspired to get involved in high-tech farming, which leads to fan-favourite Kaleb heading abroad for the first time in his life.

He goes on a road trip to the Netherlands, where "cutting-edge farms seal the deal, and the rise of the machines begins".

Meanwhile, at Jeremy's 1,000-acre farm, his fields are scanned with robot trackers and lasers as the programme shows what the future of UK farming could look like. In the trailer, Jeremy introduces his staff to a robotic tractor, which they fear will take their jobs.

In another scene, Kaleb, driving through farming fields, learns that his wife, Taya, has gone into labour. Jeremy calls Kaleb and advises him to stop working, but the latter tells his boss he wants to finish ploughing the field he is in the middle of before heading to the hospital for the birth of his third child.

More tragedy strikes later in series five as things take a dark turn, as "bad luck strikes from every direction, causing massive upset and tension in every way possible".

Clarkson's Farm series five lands on Amazon Prime Video on June 3.
