Famous bakery chain returns to UK supermarkets-and I tried the goods

Cinnabon, the globally loved bakery brand known for its cinnamon swirls with signature cream cheese frosting, has debuted in UK supermarket bakery aisles at Co-op and Asda. All Cinnabon UK locations, including high street stores and shopping centre kiosks, closed in September 2025, as the business shifted its strategic focus to its core convenience retail business.

While physical shops and concessions are gone, the brand has returned to the UK market in a different format. The baked goods hit the shelves just in time for National Doughnut Week, which runs from May 16 to May 24.

Shoppers can now enjoy the unmistakable taste of Cinnabon once again, with Cinnabon Cinnamon Doughnuts and Cinnabon Cinnamon Muffins rolling out into Co-op stores nationwide and in select Asda stores from today, May 18.

The Cinnabon Cinnamon Doughnuts come in a two-pack for just £1.80. They are described as light, fluffy, infused with 16% signature Makara cinnamon, with a generous swirl of velvety cream cheese-flavoured icing, topped with crunchy cinnamon biscuit crumbs.

The doughnuts were super soft and fluffy, and very different to any supermarket doughnuts I've had before. Plus, they're an absolute bargain at just 90p per doughnut.

The flavours were perfect, the texture was delicious, and I'd definitely eat them again.

The Cinnabon Cinnamon Muffins are £2 for a two-pack, and they're described as soft, moist muffins infused with 16% signature Makara cinnamon.

They are topped with a smooth layer of cream cheese-flavoured icing and finished with a delicate sprinkle of cinnamon biscuit crumbs.

The muffins are soft and moist, and just completely melt in the mouth. The icing on top was delicious, though I would have liked it a little softer to better mimic cream cheese.

However, for just £1 a muffin, I was highly impressed and would pay around £3 to £4 for one in a cafe or coffee shop.
