Through this recruitment drive, a total of 255 positions for Stipendiary Trainees/Technicians across various trades—including Plant Operator, Electrician, Fitter, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Turner, Machinist, and Welder—will be filled. Out of the total 255 vacancies, 136 positions are for Plant Operators, 47 for Electricians, 30 for Fitters, 15 each for Electronics Mechanics and Instrument Mechanics, 5 each for Turners and Machinists, and two for Welders.

**What are the Educational Qualifications?**
For the position of Plant Operator, candidates must have passed their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Intermediate School Certificate (ISC) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects, securing an aggregate score of at least 50 percent.
Candidates must have studied English at the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) level.
For other trades—including Electrician, Fitter, Electronics Mechanic, and Welder—candidates must have passed Class 10 with a minimum of 50 percent marks specifically in Science and Mathematics, and must also possess a two-year ITI certificate in the relevant trade.

**What is the Age Limit?**
Candidates applying for these positions must be between 18 and 24 years of age as of June 29, 2026. However, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit in accordance with government norms.

What is the application fee?
Male candidates belonging to the General Category, Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), and Economically Weaker Sections are required to pay an application fee of ₹100. Conversely, female candidates, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Ex-Servicemen, dependents of defense personnel martyred in war, and NPCIL employees are exempted from paying the application fee.

What is the selection process?
The selection process for these posts comprises a Preliminary Examination, an Advanced Examination, and Document Verification. The computer-based examination will be conducted in Tamil, Hindi, and English.

How much stipend will be provided?
Selected candidates will receive a stipend of ₹20,000 per month during the first year of training and ₹22,000 per month during the second year. Additionally, they will be granted a one-time book allowance of ₹3,000. Upon successful completion of the training, candidates may be appointed to the post of Technician/B at Pay Level-3, with an initial Basic Pay of ₹21,700; the total monthly salary, including Dearness Allowance, will amount to approximately ₹34,720.
