Lucknow, Read: Exciting matches were witnessed on Saturday in the District Table Tennis Championship organized at UPTTA Table Tennis Complex under the supervision of Lucknow District Table Tennis Association. In the men’s singles category, Divyansh Srivastava performed brilliantly and won the title, while in the junior boys under-17 category, Lakshya Kumar became the champion.
In the final of men’s singles category, Divyansh Srivastava defeated experienced Ashutosh Singh in a tough match 10-12, 11-8, 11-6, 7-11, 11-8 and captured the trophy. In this match which lasted five sets, both the players played excellently. In the semi-finals, Divyansh defeated Shaurya Goyal and Ashutosh defeated Lakshya Kumar to reach the finals.
In the Junior Boys Under-17 category, Lakshya Kumar won the title by defeating Shaurya Goyal 11-5, 9-11, 13-11, 5-11, 11-9 in the final. Lakshya entered the final by defeating Praneet Agarwal in the semi-finals.
In the quarter-final matches of Youth Boys Under-19 category, Lakshya Kumar, Ayush Bagga, Samarth Tiwari and Shaurya Goyal won and made it to the semi-finals. At the end of the competition, the winning players were honored with trophies.
