Kerala Government Swearing In Ceremony: In Kerala, Congress-led alliance UDF has won majority in the assembly elections. The name of the Chief Minister was announced 10 days after the results were declared. The new government of Kerala will take oath today at 10 am. Many senior leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Chief Ministers of Congress ruled states will also be present in the swearing-in ceremony.

The swearing-in ceremony of the new government will be held at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The list of 20 ministers has been submitted to the Governor yesterday. 21 ministers, including Chief Minister nominee VD Satheesan, will take oath of office.

These veterans will be included

Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will attend the swearing-in program of the new Chief Minister of Kerala, while Congress General Secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi is expected to attend. The situation is not clear yet regarding Sonia Gandhi’s participation in the function.

According to information received from party sources, Chief Ministers of Congress ruled states like Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana will also attend the function. An invitation has also been sent to TVK chief and new Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, but there is no official confirmation from his side yet.

VD Satheesan, nominated for the post of CM, had told yesterday that, now, after 60 years, the entire UDF cabinet is going to take oath tomorrow at 10 am. After 60 years, a complete cabinet. We have discussed with alliance partners and talked to all Congress leaders within the party. We are very happy to share that we have completed the entire process within 24 hours, which is the fastest in the history of Kerala.

Most ministers will be from Congress

Congress has emerged as the largest party in Kerala. In such a situation, the maximum number of ministerial posts in the new government also went to Congress. Congress’ chief ministerial nominees VD Satheesan, Ramesh Chennithala, K Muraleedharan, Sunny Joseph, Bindu Krishna, AP Anil Kumar, PC Vishnunadh, M Liju, Rosie M John, T Siddique, OJ Janish and KA Tulsi have got berths in the cabinet.

At the same time, the names of PK Kunhalikutty, PK Bashir, N Shamsuddin, KM Shaji and VE Abdul Ghafoor from the alliance partner Indian Union Muslim League were put forward for the post of ministers. Apart from this, Mons Joseph from Kerala Congress, Shibu Baby John from RSP, Anup Jacob from Kerala Congress (Jacob) and CP John from CMP have also been included in the cabinet.
