
Stockholm, May 17. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded the Commander Grand Cross of the Royal Order of the Polar Star by Sweden. This honor is considered one of the highest international honors given to any head of state or government. This honor has been given in view of his global leadership role and contribution to international relations.
The ‘Royal Order of the Polar Star’ given by Sweden is a prestigious honor given to foreign citizens. Commander Grand Cross is the highest level of the order, awarded exclusively to heads of state and high-ranking individuals who have made significant contributions to international co-operation and diplomacy.
PM Modi said – This is the honor of 140 crore Indians
After being awarded Sweden’s highest civilian honour, PM Modi wrote in his post, “Not long ago, I was honored with the ‘Royal Order of the Polar Star, Degree Commander Grand Cross’. This honor is not only for me, but for the 140 crore people of India. It is equally dedicated to all our friends in Sweden who have enriched India-Sweden relations and provided a strong foundation between our two nations.” May our friendship continue to strengthen.
Increasing recognition globally
With this honour, Prime Minister Modi has received a total of 31 international honors so far. This number reflects their strengthening diplomatic relations with various countries and increasing influence on global forums.
Sign of strength in diplomatic relations
According to experts, this honor is a sign of growing cooperation, trade and further strengthening of strategic partnership between India and Sweden. This step is also considered important in giving a new direction to bilateral relations between the two countries.
High level bilateral talks in Sweden
During the visit, bilateral talks also took place between Prime Minister Modi and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Christerson. The two leaders discussed trade, investment, technology, green transition, innovation and further strengthening strategic partnership.
Formal welcome held in Gothenburg
Earlier, when Prime Minister Modi reached Sweden, he was welcomed by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at Gothenburg Airport. During this, discussions were also held on giving a new direction to the cooperation between the two countries.
