Manchester United have announced that another player will depart the club alongside Casemiro at the end of the season. The midfielder waved goodbye to Old Trafford for the final time on Sunday during the club's 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Casemiro joined in 2022 for a bumper £70m, and won the FA Cup and League Cup during his spell as a United player. The Brazil international played out his final Old Trafford to plenty of fanfare, but he isn't the only United star whose exit has been announced this weekend.

In a much more understated manner, United revealed Tyrell Malacia is also leaving when the season comes to a close. The statement read: "Tyrell Malacia is to leave Manchester United when his contract expires in the summer.

"The Dutch defender was on the bench for the thrilling 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, in our final home game of the campaign. Tyrell joined the Reds from Feyenoord, in July 2022, and has made 49 first-team appearances in total.

"He spent some of last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven and has played twice this term, both against Newcastle United, as a late substitute in the home and away fixtures with the Magpies. He was part of the matchday squad when we lifted the Carabao Cup in 2023, again when coming up against Eddie Howe's Tynesiders."

Meanwhile, manager Michael Carrick said on the pitch: "There's Tyrell, who I spoke to the boys about before kick-off. He's been through a tough time due to injuries. I encourage you to show him your support."

United are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window, with midfield a department they're keen to strengthen. Elliot Anderson has been linked with a move to the club, with the Englishman having put on a stellar performance during Sunday's match at Old Trafford.

Carrick was quizzed on the Forest midfielder, with the United boss replying: "Yeah, he's done well. I think he's a big part of their team. I think he offers so much and they've got a really talented team and dangerous team.

"So they've had a good season to get to the [Europa League] semi-finals and just fall short. But yeah, you can see obviously he is important part of their team."

England manager Thomas Tuchel has been a fan for some time, with the German having said earlier this year: "He is an elite player with the right attitude and a lot of talent. He is fulfilling his role in the best way possible so we are very happy with him."
