In the IPL 2026 match held on Sunday at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi Capitals (DC) won the toss and chose to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Notably, RR has rested Ravindra Jadeja for workload management, with Ravi Singh stepping in as his replacement.

DC's captain, Axar Patel, expressed that winning the toss boosts team morale and confirmed the debut of Tripurana Vijay. He emphasized the team's commitment to performing well regardless of pitch conditions, stating, "We will bowl first. Winning enhances our confidence. Tripurana Vijay is making his debut, and we aim to excel in both batting and bowling, irrespective of how the wicket behaves."

On the other hand, RR's captain Riyan Parag shared his uncertainty about the pitch, noting its dry appearance but acknowledging that previous matches indicated chasing might be easier despite the pitch slowing down later. He admitted the team has faced challenges in defending totals recently but remains hopeful for improvement. Parag confirmed the change in the lineup, stating, "I was unsure about the wicket. It looks dry, but past scores suggest chasing has been more successful, even though it tends to slow down later. We've had ups and downs, and today is another chance to get it right. Jaddu (Ravindra Jadeja) is out due to workload management, and Ravi Singh is in."

While Delhi Capitals are not yet out of the playoff race, their chances of securing a top-four finish are quite slim. With only two league matches remaining, they cannot afford another loss, as even a single defeat would end their campaign. Currently, DC sits in eighth place in the IPL 2026 standings with just five wins from 12 matches.

Conversely, Rajasthan Royals started their season strong with four consecutive wins but have struggled to maintain that momentum. With three league games left, RR has a significant opportunity to bolster their playoff chances with a win against DC today. They are currently in fifth place with 12 points and six victories from 11 matches.
