An outdoor retailer with hundreds of stores across the UK is closing a branch in a Buckinghamshire town after nearly a decade. Signs have appeared in Mountain Warehouse's store in Marlow, a picturesque Georgian market town on the River Thames, reading "Closing Down - Everything Must Go".
Though the chain hasn't publicly confirmed a closing date, it appears to be the end of an era for a store that has been on the high street since 2016. It's not clear what led to the store's apparent closure. The Express has reached out to Mountain Warehouse for more information.
Marlow has a population of around 15,000 and boasts "historic streets with small listed buildings and an abundance of boutique shops, restaurants, cafes and bistros", as per Visit Thames.

It's not yet known whether Mountain Warehouse intends to find another site there.
It follows a number of changes to Mountain Warehouse's estate in recent years, with a number of branches closing or relocating since 2020, either to move into larger sites or consolidate stores in a local area, Bucks Free Press reports.
The brand, which was founded by entrepreneur Mark Neale, launched its first store in Swindon back in 1997.
Over the 25 years since, the chain has expanded considerably, with around 300 stores in the UK, and a further 100 or so in other places, including countries across North America and Europe, and in New Zealand.
The company is headquartered in Victoria, London, with a store nearby in the Victoria Place shopping centre in London Victoria station.
Mountain Warehouse says on its website that it has been "developing outdoor clothing and equipment for all the family" since it was founded.
"We carry a curated selection of products from 3rd party brands but most of the products you'll find at Mountain Warehouse are designed and produced in-house, and exclusively for us, so that we can offer you quality products at great prices across the range," it adds.
